Every year thousands of little green trees are chopped down, wrapped in twine and stacked under white tents on the side of the road. "Christmas Trees for Sale!" The signs read, or in most cases these days, "Xmas Trees!"  But these various types of pines and spruces have caused quite a divide amongst both conservatives and liberals alike in recent years. Here's what I mean. When I attended private school I knew a handful of people who just never had Christmas trees. "The Christmas tree stems from a pagan tradition," they'd say, "and has nothing to do with the true meaning of the holiday." The Christmas tree was just too secular for them. As most of you know, this isn't my typical blog format but when I sat down to write this, I couldn't put it into enough words to even form a complete paragraph. The feelings came out in this format and I decided to leave them be. I think each of us has a few "demons" we fight pretty regularly. Now you all have seen some of mine. I hope it helps anyone who is struggling with some of the same things I do on a daily basis. 

Hurricane Florence hit the Carolina's this weekend and it seems every time a storm like that hits there's at least one story of one person who refused to evacuate their home and the rescue squad being unable to reach them.
